Cecil County has been implementing and enforcing safety policies and rules as it relates to the landfill operations. Therefore, effective September 1, 2020, any residential/commercial customers that bring waste to the landfill, and are directed to the cell area, will be required to have a hard hat, safety vest, and safety footwear with them and use them. (Flip flops and tennis shoes are not permitted) The active cell area is where the garbage trucks dump. Cecil County Solid Waste Management does not provide these safety items. If you arrive without the items, you will be directed to depart the facility and return with the safety items, in order to dump.

This Division is responsible for providing county residents and haulers with drop-off facilities for trash, recycling, and yard waste.  The division operates the Central Landfill,  Woodlawn, and Stemmers Run Transfer Stations.  This Division does not provide trash or recycling pickup service.

Woodlawn & Stemmers Run Transfer Stations take bagged household trash and recyclables only.
Bulky waste, furniture, construction, and clean out items must be taken to the Central Landfill.
