The Cecil County Department of Parks and Recreation, in strong partnership with the community, is committed to providing quality facilities, parks, programs and services in a professional, efficient manner that meets community expectations, enhances the quality of life and promotes community pride.

Vision Statements

Develop strategically located County land into the first Regional Park in Cecil County to benefit citizens, schools and commerce.
Create a new and unique system of parks and trails in conjunction with County Municipalities.
Re-assess existing programs and implement new as needed.
Meet the needs of the athletic community and school board with the development of synthetic turf multi-purpose fields for use by the community.
Explore new and enhance existing partnerships, increase relationships with independent organizations and provide opportunities for sharing resources throughout the county.
Represent the county, through the beautification of resources, effective management of activities and superior community relations.

Parks and Recreation Board Members are appointed by the County Council and serve a three year term. Meetings are typically held on the third Tuesday of each month at the Calvert House, 2826 North East Road, North East, MD 21901.
