County Executive Danielle 2023 sm

Elected on November 3, 2020, County Executive Danielle Hornberger is the third County Executive to serve Cecil County since the establishment of this office in 2012. She is also currently serving as treasurer of the board of directors for the Maryland Association of Counties and is a member of the Wilmington Area Planning Council, Bainbridge Development Corporation Board of Directors, Port of Deposit State Historical Park Stakeholder Advisory Committee, and Upper Shore Regional Council.

Danielle recently served as a Community Liaison for the Office of Congressman Andy Harris. Prior to that she taught at NorthBay, Cecil County Public Schools (CCPS) and Charles County Public Schools (also CCPS). Danielle began her career at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) where she served as a liaison to the National Corn Growers Association, and later worked for the United States Census Bureau as a Field Supervisor. Additionally, she has volunteered with Boy Scouts and the DelMarVa Council, and is a former board member of the nonprofit organization, Standing to Educate and Promote Sobriety (STEPS) Recovery Resources.

Originally from Southern Maryland, Danielle resides in North East. Her adult son, Adam, is a graduate of Cecil County Public Schools.
