Purpose:
Stormwater best management practices, or "BMPs," are used to maintain and enhance public health, safety, and general welfare by establishing minimum plan requirements and procedures to control adverse impacts of stormwater runoff.
Proper stormwater management minimizes damage to public and private property; reduces the effects of development on land and water; controls stream channel erosion; and reduces local flooding.
