Outreach is a significant part of the Cecil County Board of Elections' operations.
Some of our outreach efforts include:

  • Assistance with the Mail-In Ballot process at local nursing homes and assisted living centers;
  • Public demonstrations of our Voting Systems;
  • Civic awareness of the electoral process in schools and among community groups; and
  • Voter registration drives.

OUTREACH

If you would like to request a demonstration or training for yourself or an organization that you are involved with, please fill out our Online Voter Outreach Request Form or contact our office at 410-996-5310.

How can I get involved?

  • Become an Election Judge: Earn extra money and be part of the democratic process. We are always in need of election judges to work at the polling places during Early Voting for the Primary or on General Election Day. To learn more about how to be an election judge, click here.
  • Voter Registration Volunteer (VRV): With VRV training, you will be certified to conduct voter registration drives on your own.  Visit the Voter Registration Volunteer page to learn more.

State Employees

Did you know you can earn administrative leave if you work on Election Day?  State employees can learn more about earning admin leave here.

 Letter from Nikki Charleston, the Deputy Administrator for the State Board of Elections.

County Employees

Election Judge: The employee may use one (1) hour of administrative leave for each hour of service as an election judge, up to a total of eight (8) hours for each day of service. The employee must furnish satisfactory evidence that they served as an election judge on the day(s) for which they are charging the administrative leave. If more than one (1) employee is performing early election judge service, the department is charged with ensuring proper staffing and requests may be denied.
