MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY

COMMISSIONERS MEETING

May 11, 2010

The Board of County Commissioners for Cecil County met in session for a public hearing on the constant yield tax rate for FY11 and public hearing on the FY11 budget at the County Administration Building, 200 Chesapeake Blvd, Elkton, MD. The following members of the Board were present:

  • Brian L. Lockhart, President
  • Rebecca J. Demmler, Vice President
  • Wayne L. Tome, Sr., Commissioner
  • Robert J. Hodge, Commissioner
  • James T. Mullin, Commissioner

Constituting a full Board.

The meeting of the Board of County Commissioners for Cecil County, May 11, 2010 was called to order by Commissioner Lockhart at 2:00 p.m.

PUBLIC HEARING –

- CONSTANT YIELD TAX RATE HEARING-

Craig Whiteford, Budget Manager, opened the public hearing by presenting the FY11 proposed constant yield tax rate. The proposed tax rate is $.9153 of $100 of assessed value, which is 2.47 reduction in the current rate.

The Constant Yield Tax Rate will be set on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 2:00 P.M., at the County Administration Building 200 Chesapeake Blvd, Elkton, MD.

PUBLIC HEARING –

- FY 2011 CECIL COUNTY BUDGET-

Budget Manager, Craig Whiteford presented an overview of the FY11 proposed budget.

PUBLIC COMMENT –

President Lockhart opened the floor for public comment. The following citizens voiced their concerns/comments relating to the FY11 proposed tax rate and FY11 proposed budget:

  • Tim Granger, 1831 North East Rd, North East
  • Phyllis Kilby, 795 Firetower Rd, Colora

Commissioner Lockhart stated the Commissioners would be available at the end of the meeting to speak with anyone who was not able to speak during public comment.

There being no further business of the County Commissioners, at this time the meeting will reconvene at 7:00 p.m. at the County Administration Building 200 Chesapeake Blvd, Elkton, MD.

The Board of County Commissioners for Cecil County reconvened for a public Hearing on the FY11 proposed constant yield tax rate and public hearing on the FY11 proposed budget at the County Administration Building, 200 Chesapeake Blvd, Elkton, MD.
