MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF HEALTH

August 19, 2008

The Cecil County Board of Health met in the County Administrative Building, 200 Chesapeake Blvd., Elkton, Maryland on Tuesday, August 19, 2008. The following members of the Board were present:

Constituting a full Board.

Stephanie Garrity, Cecil County Health Officer, presented the Cecil County Health Department Quarterly Report for the period of April through June, 2008, the fourth quarter of FY 2008.

The Cecil County Health Department has expanded their services to further meet the needs of patients of the Alcohol & Drug Recovery Center and is not offering an intensive outpatient program (IOP). The format of the new therapeutic program incorporates nine to twenty hours of service weekly, including individual and group therapy, recovery education, family support & counseling, and random urine drug screening.

The Maryland Children's Health Insurance Program (MCHP) has been expanded as a result of Senate Bill 6 during the 2007 General Assembly Special Session and includes a provision to provide eligible families with incomes up to 116% of the federal poverty level with benefits.
