The Cecil County Board of Health met in the County Administrative Building, 107 North Street, Elkton, Maryland on Tuesday, February 6, 2007.  The following members of the Board were present:

William C. Manlove, President
Mark H. Guns, Vice President
Rebecca Demmler, Commissioner
Brian Lockhart, Commissioner
Wayne L. Tome, Sr.Commissioner
Dr. Virginia Bailey

Constituting a full Board.

The Cecil County Health Department will be administering flu vaccine for the next several weeks and Dr. Bailey encouraged all citizens who have not yet been vaccinated to take advantage of the ample supply.

The Quarterly Report for October-December 2006 was presented to the Board. 

In the Division of Addictions, Kenneth Collins joined the Health Department as the new Director of the Division of Addictions.

The Maryland Children's Health Insurance Program completed 418 new applications for children, 109 new applications for pregnant women and 479 re-determinations during the quarter

During the calendar year 2006, a total of 91 animal specimens were submitted to the State Health Department Laboratory for rabies testing. Of these, 7 tested positive for rabies - 5 raccoons, 1 skunk and 1 cat.

Dr. Bailey announced that the week of February 11 - 17 is Children of Alcoholics & Other Drug Dependent Parents Week and handed out a flyer that will be distributed throughout the county.
