The Cecil County Board of Health met in the County Administrative Building, 107 North Street, Elkton, Maryland on Tuesday, August 21, 2007.  The following members of the Board were present:

William C. Manlove, President
Mark H. Guns, Vice President
Rebecca Demmler, Commissioner
Brian Lockhart, Commissioner
Wayne Tome, Commissioner
Dr. Virginia Bailey

Constituting a full Board.

The Cecil County Health Department's Bathing Beach Sampling Program Update was submitted to the Board.  A recent National Resources Defense Council report identified Hack's Point beach as one of the most closed beaches in the country in 2006.  The Health Department will be working with the Hack's Point Civic Association to identify on-site septic systems in the beach area, and will inspect to determine if they are the source of the bacterial contamination.

The Health Department announced the Potassium Iodide Distribution Schedule with the first distribution being Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the Water Witch Fire Company.  All citizens living within a ten-mile radius of the Peach Bottom Nuclear Power Plant in York County, Pennsylvania are encouraged to participate.

The quarterly report for April - June, 2007 was distributed to the Board to read at their leisure.
