The Department of Community Services (DCS) promotes, supports and celebrates volunteer engagement in Cecil County through:
Cecil Cares is an annual, countywide day of service coordinated by Cecil County Department of Community Services - Community Partnerships Division and a Cecil Cares Planning Team; the event receives support from Upper Shore Regional Council. Cecil Cares offers citizens the opportunity to connect and volunteer with local organizations (nonprofits, government agencies, and faith and service-based organizations) on a variety of service projects throughout the County.

Please note several projects will take place on Friday, October 11th. Details are included in each project description, so be sure to choose a project on the date that works for you.
There are a wide variety of projects to choose from! Find one that speaks to you and plan for a day of work, fun, and community.

Cecil County Department of Community Services is an AmeriCorps Seniors grantee and receives federal funding to implement RSVP (one of three AmeriCorps Seniors programs) in Cecil and Harford Counties. RSVP strives to connect adults ages 55 and older with meaningful service opportunities to help meet critical community needs. For more information on RSVP, call 410.996.8440.
Volunteer Cecil is a free, online system for connecting individuals of all ages with volunteer opportunities throughout the Cecil County area. Organizations utilizing volunteers can access the site to post their needs and events. Free technical assistance is available to organizations – volunteers, too! Volunteer Cecil is managed by the Community Partnerships Division staff and a volunteer team; the site receives support from Upper Shore Regional Council.
