Fireworks Display – starts around 9pm. Best Viewing is anywhere along the canal on either the north or south sides of town.

The rockets will once again show their red glare over the C&D Canal from Chesapeake City on July 5th. There will be food vendors and pushcarts plus light sticks and other like items available for sale on both the north and south sides of the canal – in Pell Gardens area on the South Side and at the base of Lock Street at the C&D Canal Trailhead area on the North Side. In previous years, parking has been allowed on the levees, but it is no longer available along the North Side of Chesapeake City since the new canal-side Trail is permanently closed to all types of vehicular traffic.
The Fireworks Extravaganza takes place at 9pm and is an awesome sight over the canal waters. The lengthy fireworks show is sponsored by the Town of Chesapeake City, the Chesapeake Inn and Marina, and Schaefers Restaurant and Canal Bar.
So, gather up the family. Pack up your folding chairs. Bring a blanket or two. Come to the town of historic Chesapeake City and have fun under the stars. Rain date, Saturday, July 6th.
