Option Agreement Signed with Nowland Development, LLC

Cecil County Commissioners Public notice is hereby provided that the Board of County Commissioners of Cecil County have executed an option agreement with Nowland Development, LLC and/or P. Dale Nowland to purchase approximately 9.29 acres of property to construct an office building upon said parcel for the benefit of the County.

The Owner is the owner of a 31.0759 acre parcel within the Upper Chesapeake Corporate Center adjacent to Chesapeake Boulevard designated as Parcel 2445 on Tax Map 316 at Grid 24 pursuant to a deed recorded at WLB 744, folio 258. The consideration for the property is $2,199,706, with additional acreage available at a cost of $213,500. per acre.

Pursuant to the option agreement the Owner grants to the County the exclusive right and option to purchase the aforesaid property contingent upon:

  1. Subdivision of the parcel
  2. Execution of a design/build contract
  3. Approval of purchase and design/build contract by the Cecil County Commissioners
  4. County obtaining appropriate funding

The County may exercise this option by giving Owner written notice of its exercise of said option within six (6) months of the date of this option.

The Cecil County Commissioners shall conduct a public hearing to entertain execution of the option agreement on April 18, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of North East, Town Hall, 106 South Main Street, North East, MD.
