Dept. of Aging Public Hearing

Cecil County Department of Aging will conduct a Public Hearing to afford the public the opportunity by request, for a public hearing to review the Department of Aging's Annual Transportation Proposal for FY 2008. The hearing will ONLY BE HELD if requested in writing by November 16.

The proposal requests $87,584 Section 5311 funding and $134,073 Statewide Special Transportation Assistance Program funding from the Maryland Transit Administration and the Federal Transit Administration to provide services for the elderly, disabled and general public in Cecil County.

Capital Requests

• New county wide 2-way radio system for our current fleet of 14 vehicles at $83,000
• Building of new transportation unit in county office building at $381,000  
• Carry over funding for Transit Enhancement from FY 04 at $3,149
• One replacement bus at $72,240

County funding for capital expenses is 10 percent.

Requests for a public hearing must be made in writing to the Cecil County Department of Aging, 214 North Street, Elkton, Md. 21921. They must be received by Thursday, Nov 16, 2006.
