 Liberty Grove Road Bridge Closure Announcement

            Elkton, MD - Work on the project to replace Liberty Grove Road Bridge over Basin Run will begin on April 27, 2009. The project will require closing of the bridge and the Liberty Grove Road and Basin Run Road intersection.

            The project will include removal of the existing bridge, construction of the new bridge, improvements to the approaches and installation of guardrail.  The new bridge will carry all legal loads and will be wider for improved safety. The contract is due to be completed in January 2010.

Mumford and Miller Concrete, Inc. of Middletown, DE was awarded this contract for $577,537.  The design engineer is URS Corporation of Hunt Valley, Maryland.  The project is 100% County-funded from the General Fund.
