On February 7, 2017, the Council presented a proclamation in honor of National Athletic Training Month to Matt Johnson, Acting Coordinator of Physical Education, Health and Athletics, Cecil County Public Schools; and Chris Hartman, Head Athletic Trainer, Cecil County Public Schools; and to Taylor Opperhauser, Cecil College Athletic Trainer. 

In January 2017, Vice President Dan Schneckenburger and Councilman George Patchell
congratulate Detective Jeremy Strohecker, Cecil County Sheriff's Office,
who was awarded Deputy of the Year.
