The Maryland Insurance Administration will hold a public outreach to educate the public regarding all types of insurance at the Cecil County Administration Building, 200 Chesapeake Blvd., Elkton, MD, Tuesday March 17, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. A representative from MIA will be available to answer consumer questions and provide publications on topics ranging from personal automobile insurance to long term care insurance purchasing strategies.

The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) is a state agency that regulates the insurance industry in Maryland.  The agency does not sell insurance or recommend any insurer or agent.

The Consumer Education and Advocacy Unit (CEAU) of the MIA is responsible for the agency's outreach activities and endeavors to better educate the public regarding all types of insurance coverage, issues, etc.  The MIA provides unbiased information in easy to understand language to assist the general public when making insurance-related decisions.
