The mission of the Treasurer's Office is to provide excellent customer service to the citizens of Cecil County and to our co-workers, while providing timely and accurate financial information to the public and commissioners to assist them in making quality decisions.

The Treasurer's Office is responsible for the collection and investment of the County's funds as well as all accounting functions and preparation of financial reports for the entire County.  The Treasurer's Office administers and collects County real property and personal property taxes and also collects revenues from permits and inspection fees, landfill and septage payments, water and sewer payments, liquor license fees, dog license sales, and various other fees and fines.  This office is responsible for conducting the tax sale in June each year.  All accounts payable are disbursed by the Treasurer's Office as well.  A priority for the office is to maintain our current high standards of accuracy, efficiency and friendly customer service to both the general public and to other departments of the County.
 
We place an emphasis on customer service and will do everything in our power to assist you.  We are glad to work with the owners of small businesses to help resolve problems relating to personal property taxes.  We attempt to keep the public informed via the newspapers, direct mailings and this website.  Qualified homeowners are welcome to contact us for assistance with filing for the Homeowner's Tax Credit.
