Addendum #1 - CLOSED
1. Addendum #1 dated 8/14/07, is issued as part of the Contract Document, to inform and/or specify changes, which take precedence over information contained in the original Contract Documents. Unless otherwise specifically noted or specified hereinafter, or shown on drawings or schedules accompanying this Addendum, all work required by this Addendum shall conform to the applicable provisions of the Contract Documents. It shall be the responsibility of the Bidder to include in his bid any cost implications of this Addendum. All bidders are to indicate on the form of proposal submitted by them, acknowledgement of receipt and compliance with the contents of this Addendum #1.
2. Any provision in any of the Contract Documents, which may be in conflict or be inconsistent with the contents of this Addendum, shall be void to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency.
3. Clarification of Bid Documents
3.1. Invitation to Bid
a. Page IFB-1 is replaced with the attached revised Invitation to Bid.
b. The following changes have been made:
1. Revised the first paragraph to read, …"U.S. Route 40 Sewage Pumping Station & Force Main Replacement Project"…
2. Added to the end of the fourth paragraph; "A site visit will immediately follow the pre-bid meeting."

Invitation For Bid
Sealed bid proposals for "U.S. Route 40 Sewage Pumping Station & Force Main Replacement Project" as described in the proposal package, for Cecil County Government, Department of Public Works will be received from qualified bidders until 1:30 p.m., September 5, 2007, at the Purchasing Office, 218 North Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
The purpose of this contract is to construct a replacement sewage pumping station and force main to provide safe pumping capacity for the US Route 40 East Sanitary Subdistrict. The work included in this contract is a replacement sewage pumping station and force main complete with standby emergency generator, automatic control system, telemetry system, gravity sewers, site work, and start-up and testing of all systems. The exiting station is to be dismantled when the new station is operational.
Additional specifications and/or instructions to bidders may be obtained by calling the Purchasing Department, (David Pyle, Purchasing Agent), at the 410-996-5395/5396. Bid packages may be picked up at the Purchasing Office at a cost of $125.00 per package.
A mandatory pre-bid information conference will be held on August 21, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioner's Board Room, County Administrative Building, 107 north Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Bids will not be accepted from any contractors that did not attend a mandatory pre-bid information conference. A site visit will immediately follow the pre-bid meeting.
Electronically submitted bid proposals will not be accepted. Bid proposals will not be accepted from contractors who have not obtained original plans and documents from the Cecil County Purchasing Department.
Upon request, the Purchasing Office will provide vendor lists to requesting parties for all solicitations published unless a vendor/contractor provides a written request barring the disclosure of their information until after specific proposal award.
LOCAL CONTRACTORS PREFERENCE: Section 183-21 of the Cecil County Code provides for Local Preference whereby the Board of County Commissioners of Cecil County reserves the right to show preference to local bidders in the purchase of supplies, equipment, and services.
