At the Cecil Arena, various times can be scheduled during the week for private 1 on 1 pitching instruction by Dave Hitchens. Pitching Instruction is sold in blocks of four sessions and costs $40.00/half hour.
Homeschool learning made easy. We have incorporated our Fit n Fun sports units to coordinate with an art enrichment offering. We've geared these two classes towards homeschool education for grades K-9. Held on Wednesdays at the Cecil Arena for a six week session. Classes are held at 2pm and 3pm. See the attached flier for class breakdowns. $30.00 for one class take both gym and art for $50.00.
Various schools in partnership with Cecil County Parks and Recreation Department will be offering afterschool enrichment programs in sports and arts from dismissal time until 4:30pm (middle school) and 5pm for the elementary schools. The Sports and Arts schedule will vary from school to school and offerings will change from season to season. PLease check this site regularly for updates and changes.
Computer Creations will utilize the Computer Lab at Holly Hall to learn the principles of Graphic Arts. To be held each Tuesday for a six wek session starting October 28th. Grades 3-5 can register. $25.00
Saturdays, for ages 5-12 starting November 1 for six weeks. Phase 1 classes held from 9am - 9:45am. Starting this winter, Phases 2 & 3 will be offered beginning January 10. Phases 1, 2, and 3 will be offered during a session this spring. Each 6 week session is $40.00.
A uniquely designed activity designed with little crafters in mind. From scrapbooking to knitting, crafters in grades k-8 will find that there is something for everyone in this workshop based class. Wednesdays at the Cecil Community Center in Rising Sun, starting September 10 from at 7-8pm.
The Cecil County Parks & Recreation Department will continue to accept registrations for our tutoring program for students in 2nd through 8th grade throughout the school year. Participants will be tutored in selected subjects such as math, reading, spelling, and more. Tutoring sessions will take place in one hour blocks, usually scheduled in area libraries. Our tutors will interact with your child's teacher to better prepare your child for the high demands of the current school year. Furthermore, the one-to-one ratio will help your child develop that much faster.
Tutoring fees are $20 for each one hour session. All tutors are employees of the Parks and Recreation Department, and have been recruited from area High Schools, Colleges and Universities. For more information, contact the Department of Parks & Recreation.
An instructional pre-season clinic will be available for all ages (1 year previous season experience required) at Rising Sun High School meeting on Tuesdays from 6-7:30pm starting September 9 - November 11. $20.00

Winter League Football
Ages 14-17. Play Saturdays at Caravel Academy in Bear Delaware. Practice at Meadow Park. Each team will have 6 games and playoffs starting January 3, 2009. Tryouts are held December 6th at 12:00 noon at the Cecil Community Center. Registration for the program is $100.00 due at the time of tryouts along with a birth certificate.
