Supervisor I  

Cecil County Public Works – Roads Division seeks a Supervisor I for the (Central Area) with a starting salary of $38, 938. This is an hourly rate of $18.72. (Grade 7N, Step 4). Full benefits are included with this position. 

Position Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. One to three (1-3) years' progressive supervision/management; Three (3) years' highway maintenance or construction experience. Valid Commercial Drivers' License (CDL), Class B or A; Flagging certification; must demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Enrolled in a two (2) year College program (i.e. Construction Management Technology Diploma or Leadership/Management Associates Degree and Cecil County Roads Supervisor Certification Program; or an equivalent combination of training, knowledge or education. 

Duties: Include supervising and ensuring safety of County road and/or bridge projects; oversight of bridge crew personnel and equipment; perform work project inspections; organize crews for daily work projects including snow removal, tar and chip operations, tree trimming and debris cleaning and removal; bridge maintenance and repair; purchase supplies and maintain inventory oversee work performed by contractors; work under general supervision; and perform all other duties as assigned.
