DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION
LABORER - FTCecil County Parks & Recreation Department seeks a Laborer with a starting salary of $24,107.20 per year. This is an hourly rate of $11.59 (Grade 3N, Step 1).Provide extensive grounds keeping work and general/routine maintenance and repair of Cecil County parks and recreational grounds and facilities. Position requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; One (1) or more years' experience in grounds/building maintenance, program assembly, and/or custodial care. Must have excellent customer service skills and experience working with a variety of work related vendors, and members of the community; ability to follow written/oral instructions; A valid Driver's License is required; handle on – call responsibilities during emergencies, such as snow removal from parking lots; ability to pass a DOT medical screening is required.
Duties: To perform general building and grounds maintenance duties; to oversee and perform general custodial and cleaning tasks in the care of the County Parks facilities; operates equipment such as hand and riding lawn mowers, weed eaters, saws, light carpentry, painting, and plumbing work; communicate effectively with the general public, other employees, and volunteers; maintain an ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions for prolonged periods of time; experience lining athletic fields is a plus, performs all duties as required.

COMPLIANCE CHECK AGENT – OVER 21 YRS
Cecil County Government Liquor Board is seeking a Compliance Check Agent with an hourly rate of $8.50. This position is part-time and funded under the Highway Safety Grant for the purpose of conducting inspections at licensed establishments that serve alcohol to ensure compliance with the law. It will be needed for a period of no more than 100 total working hours. Primarily works Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; usually 6pm – 10pm. No benefits included.
Position requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and be able to impersonate and/or be viewed perceptually as a person who is younger than 21 years of age; valid driver's license.
Duties: Include working with alcoholic beverage licensees regarding underage drinking in coordination with the Operation Stay Alert program; documenting all findings for each establishment; must be able to attend and testify in court proceedings, if necessary.
