MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Cecil County Facilities Management is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the CecilCounty Detention Center, with a starting hourly rate scale of $16.27 to 17.25, dependent upon qualifications and experience. (Grade 6). This position performs maintenance including electric, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, carpentry, and grounds.

Position requirements: High school diploma or GED; five or more years experience with building maintenance including, experience in the maintenance and repair of various heating, air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems; Universal Refrigeration Certificate or Masters Electrician Certification is preferred; and valid drivers' license.

Duties: Include, but are not limited to, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems; perform preventative maintenance on above equipment; coordinate repairs with outside contractors; snow removal, landscaping duties, fabricate parts and components as necessary; and perform all other duties as assigned.

COURT BAILIFF

 

Cecil County Circuit Court is seeking a Court Bailiff with a starting hourly rate of $14.76. (Grade 5N, and Step 1). 

Position requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; three (3) or more years of experience in law enforcement is required and must be a graduate of a Police Training Academy. Must have or be able to obtain Maryland handgun permit and Special Police Commission. Work demands occasional strenuous effort involving the restraint of aggressive individuals. Must pass an extensive background investigation. Valid Driver's License.

Duties: Prepare courtroom and hearing room facilities and ensures the security of these facilities during court sessions; Provide support and backup to Sheriff's Department; performs other duties as assigned. Circuit Court administration and supervision provided by County Administrative Judge and/or designee.

LABORER

 

Cecil County Facilities Management is seeking a Laborer/Custodian– FT with a starting salary of $11.59 per hour. The position is responsible for working Monday – Friday, 3:00pm – 11:30pm shift hours and includes full County benefits. (Grade 3N, and Step 1)

Position requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; One (1) or more years custodian and/or general maintenance experience is preferred; must pass an extensive background investigation; possess valid Drivers' License and maintain a good driving record per County policy and procedures; must be able to pass a DOT medical examination.

Duties: Include, but not limited to, routine cleaning  of offices, restrooms, and other public areas of various County buildings; general preventative maintenance duties such as painting and structural work, etc.; light carpentry and dry wall experience a plus; must perform snow removal or clean up in inclement weather; experience with floor buffing equipment is preferred.
