The Cecil County Board of Health met in the County Administrative Building, 200 Chesapeake Blvd., Elkton, Maryland on Tuesday, February 5, 2008. The following members of the Board were present:
William C. Manlove, President Mark H. Guns, Vice President Rebecca Demmler, Commissioner Wayne Tome, Commissioner Stephanie Garrity, Acting Health Officer Constituting a majority Board.
The Cecil County Health Department's Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2007 was distributed to the Board. This report highlights the Cecil County Health Department's major accomplishments in FY 07 and is available for dissemination through the Health Department; copies are also available at the County Administration Building.
Acting Health Officer Garrity presented the Cecil County Health Department's quarterly report for the second quarter of FY 08 and announced that the Health Department is expanding its post-treatment community support with the start of a Spanish-speaking Narcotics Anonymous support group.
The Division of Community Services of the Health Department announced that 83% of school-aged children in Cecil County are up-to-date on their immunization.
The wet season soil testing has been delayed as a result of low water table levels and will more than likely begin in the next few weeks. There are currently 32 applicants on a waiting list.
